Hi, I’m Andrew Kallinikos.

At the risk of sounding cliché, I've always had a passion for creating things, and my insatiable curiosity has always been a driving force behind my journey. From a young age, I was fascinated by how things worked, often dismantling gadgets to peek inside and understand their inner workings. This drive to explore and understand the world around me led me to pursue Electrical Engineering with a focus on Computer Engineering at Penn State. Before finding out it was no longer offered, my love for the cosmos led me to pursue a minor in Astrophysics.

The ocean has always been a sanctuary for me, a place where I can connect with nature and clear my mind. One of my favorite activities is surfing. As a surfer, I've spent countless hours out in the water and studying the ocean. When I first got my driver's license, I would drive to the beach almost every day to surf.

In addition to surfing, I enjoy snowboarding and the freedom of the skies as a pilot. Each of these activities offers a unique way to experience the world; each flight and ride deepens my appreciation for the planet's vast beauty. Ever since my dad gave me a Mickey Mouse camera when I was three, I have had a passion for capturing the world around me through photos and videos.

My entrepreneurial spirit emerged early on. Always looking for ways to earn a buck, I mowed lawns and flipped yard sale finds on eBay as a kid. I always try to find ways to integrate my personal interests into my work. As my surfing habit started burning a hole in my pocket due to high gas prices, this drive led me to start my own surf school during high school. The need for a better scheduling tool at my surf school sowed the seeds that would later inspire me to develop Forsea, a surf forecasting application that lets surfers tailor their experiences based on their preferences.

My career in software engineering began at FORTË, where I worked to help create a platform for boutique fitness studios to expand their reach by streaming classes to a wider audience. I then moved to Adlexx, a small web-based software consulting company, where I gained diverse experience working on various projects and honing my skills in a dynamic environment.

Today, I am at Resideo as a Senior Software Engineer, where I focus on integrating video solutions into security products. This role allows me to blend my technical expertise with my passions, using technology to enhance safety and security while indulging my love for video and photography through the products we develop.
